Calendar Invite is Off for Recurring Zoom Reminders

This article explains how calendar event links function in the Zoom tool and why updates to recurring meetings may not reflect in calendar invites.

When using the Zoom Group Meeting or Zoom Webinar Connection tools, you can include a Calendar Event Link on your Show Page or within emails sent from your CRM. This allows contacts to easily add the event to their personal calendars.

Why Calendar Invites May Be Incorrect

For recurring Zoom meetings or webinars, calendar (.ics, Outlook, iCal, or Google Calendar) files are generated based on the original schedule and recurrence settings configured when the event is first created.

If changes are made later, such as updating individual dates or times within the recurring series, those updates are not reflected in the existing calendar file.

Important Notes

  • Calendar files follow the initial recurrence settings only

  • Individual event updates in Zoom will not update the calendar link

  • This behavior is due to a combination between Google Calendar, ICS File and a PlusThis limitations

Future Considerations

Support for dynamically updating .ics files based on individual event changes may be possible in the future, but there is no current timeline for this functionality.
