Throttler - ActiveCampaign

The Throttler tool lets you send smaller, spaced-out batches in your campaigns. It’s useful for CRMs with manual steps, avoiding provider throttling (like Google), and testing deliverability at different times of day.

Throttler Configuration Options

Getting Started

In this section, you will find the options for building your Throttler tool. Follow along in your PlusThis app, or by viewing the screenshot.

Step 1: How would you like to populate the throttler?

In the dropdown, select how you would like to populate the contacts for your throttler.

1.a: If you selected to populate contacts based on a tag then select the tag in this

dropdown.

1.b: If you selected to populate contacts based on a saved search then select the

saved search in the dropdown provided.

Step 2: How many contacts per batch?

Here you will select how many contacts you would like to run per batch.

Step 3: Time Between Batches

This is where you will select the amount of time you want between batches.

3.a: In this drop down you have the option of selecting the time between batches

to be in minutes, hours, or days.

Step 4: What action do you want to perform?

In the dropdown you can select the action you want performed on the contacts pulled in batches.

4.a: If you select apply tag then in the dropdown below select the tag(s) you

would like applied. You can use this tag to start your automations/campaigns

as this tag will be applied in batches.

4.b: If you selected the option "TriggerAPI Goal" then fill in the two blanks "What

is the API Goal's Integration Name?" and "What is the API Goal's Call Name?"

Step 1: Tool Name

Enter a name for your tool in this field. The name is solely for use inside of PlusThis, and will not be visible to customers.

Step 2: Tool Folder

Optional: In the dropdown select a folder to store your tool in. The folder is solely for use inside of PlusThis, and will not be visible to customers. The folders allow you to keep tools organized and is completely optional.

Implementation Types

Manually Trigger

This tool will only run when manually triggered.

Step 1: Click the purple 'Run Throttler Manually' button when you would like to start the Throttler tool.
