Countdown Timer Configuration Options
Select your Countdown Options
The first step of the tool configuration is to select what type of Countdown Timer you would like to create. Follow along with the option you would like to create in the sections below
Step 1: Countdown Options
Select your countdown type:
- If you would like to use The Date and Time Found in a contact's field
- If you would like to use A Fixed Date and Time
- If you would like to use Countdown for a specific amount of time
The Date and Time Found in a contact's field
This will create a countdown that will count down until the date/time found in a contact's field.
Step 1:
a: Select which field you would like to use in the countdown in the dropdown provided.
b: Select what time you would like the countdown to end (or leave blank to use the time found in the field.
c: Select which timezone you'd like to use for the countdown.
d: Click here to continue set up.
A Fixed Date and Time
This will create a countdown that will count down until the date/time that you specify in our field.
Step 1:
a: In the field titled "When?" select the date and time you'd like to count down to.
b: Select which timezone you'd like to use for the countdown.
c: Click here to continue set up.
Countdown for a specific amount of time
This will create a countdown that will count down for a specific amount of time after a page with the timer is loaded
Step 1:
a: Select the duration of the countdown in Days, Hours and/or Minutes
b: Click here to continue set up.
Redirect Set-Up
Step 2: Redirect when the countdown expires: (optional)
This is an optional configuration option, however if you would like the page to redirect to a different page when the countdown expires, enter the URL you would like people to be sent to in this field.
*Note* The redirecting does not work in an email embed, and will only work for countdowns embedded on websites.
Countdown Styling Options
Step 3: Font and Color
Select which font type and color you would like your countdown to utilize.
Step 4: Labels
You can check the box labeled "Don't Show Labels in Countdown" to remove all labels from the countdown timer. By default, this box is not checked.
You can also enter any alternate text you would like displayed instead of the provided labels. This is useful if your customer base are not native English speakers.
Step 5: Update Preview
Clicking this will allow you to see a preview of the countdown with your personalized selections made above.
Step 6: Tool Name
Enter a name for your tool in this field. The name is solely for use inside of PlusThis, and will not be visible to customers.
Implementation Types
My Website
Embed a Countdown Timer on your page unique to the contact's custom fields, for a specified date, or for a specified amount of time.
Step 1: On the Usage and Instructions page, copy the code under the ‘My Website’ tab.
Step 2: Embed the code in an HTML element on your page where you would like the Countdown Timer to display.
Step 3: Be sure to pass contact details to the page the Countdown Timer is embedded on. You can do this using the link generator, or by passing details through an ActiveCampaign webform submission. Note: This is not necessary for the Fixed Date and Time, nor Countdown for a specific amount of time options.
Email
Send a Countdown Timer through ActiveCampaign's Email Builder.
Step 1: Copy the code under the ‘ActiveCampaign Email Builder’ tab.
Step 2: Open the email you’d like to embed the timer on.
Step 3: Drag in an HTML element where you’d like the timer to display on the page.
Step 4: Paste the code from PlusThis in the element.
AccessAlly
Embed a Countdown Timer on your AccessAlly page unique to the contact's custom fields, for a specified date, or for a specified amount of time.
Step 1: On the Usage and Instructions page, copy the code under the ‘AccessAlly’ tab.
Step 2: Embed the code in an HTML element on your page where you would like the Countdown Timer to display.
Step 3: IMPORTANT: Be sure to embed this tool on Gated-Only pages that requires the contact to be logged in to view the page.
