Calculate Time Between Events - Keap

This tool calculates the time it takes for contacts to move between automation steps, helping identify delays and optimize workflows.

Useful for calculating how long it takes your contacts to move from one point in the Automation to the next, this tool will calculate the amount of time between two events. This is helpful for seeing which section of your Automation needs streamlining, allowing you to see where things are taking longer than they should. For example, you can calculate the number of days between the opt-in and the consult request, and the time between the consult request and purchase.

Step 2: Event 2

In the drop-down, select the second event you would like to use in your calculations. Again, you can choose from a date found in a field, the date a tag was applied on a contact, or from a variety of other options available in CRM.

Step 3: Select a timezone to use for both dates

In the dropdown, select which timezone you would like the treat the dates from Event 1 and Event 2 in. If you want to keep the timezone as the default for the field then just leave this option as the default.

Step 4: Where should we store the result?

Select a field where you would like the result (the number of days between Event 1 and Event 2) stored.

If you do not have a field created already, you can create a field by clicking on the plus (+) symbol on the right-hand side of the field selector.

Implementation Types

HTTP Post

Run your tool virtually anywhere in your campaign using an HTTP post element.

Step 1: This Tool should be triggered by an "HTTP Post" from Infusionsoft. This can be done using the Campaign Builder's "Send HTTP Post" option found on the left hand side of the sequence builder, under the "Process" section.

Step 2: Decide where in your campaign you want to trigger this Tool. It can be part of virtually any Campaign Sequence.

Step 3: In the Campaign Sequence, place a "Send HTTP Post" action where you want to run the Tool.

Step 4: Use the Tool URL, provided above, in the "POST URL" field of the HTTP Post.

Step 5: Leave the default "Name / Value Pairs" as is. There should be an entry that looks like this: contactId = ~Contact.Id~

Step 6: Leave the Merge Fields as is. PlusThis gets all of the data necessary to run from the Contact Id Name / Value pair.

Step 7: Mark the HTTP Post (and Sequence) as "Ready".

Step 8: Publish your campaign changes and test! The "Send Test" button in Infusionsoft is not a good way to test PlusThis Tools. Instead, create a test contact record and push that record through the appropriate sequence.
