Getting Started with Action Links with Keap (Infusionsoft):

Step 1: What URL do you want the contacts to be sent to?

Step 2: What fallback URL would you like to use if contact details are not found?

Step 3: What action do you want to perform when a contact clicks this link?

Step 4: Which tag(s) would you like to apply to the contacts?

Tool Configuration

In this section, you will find the options for building your Action Link tool. Follow along in your PlusThis app, or by viewing the numbered steps below or in the screenshots.

Step 1: What URL do you want the contacts to be sent to?

Enter the URL you would like the contacts to be sent to when they click on the Action Link button.

Step 2: Waht fallback URL would you like to use if contact details are not found?

Put the URL that you would like people to be sent to if they click the link and there are no contact details found (if we don't know who the person is).

Step 3: What action do you want to perform when a contact clicks this link?

You'll then select the action you'd like performed when they click the link.

Step 4: Which tag(s) would you like to apply to the contacts? or What is the API Goal's Integration Name?

  • Option 1: Apply tag - then select which tag you'd like applied to the contact when they click the link

  • Option 2: Trigger API Goal - then fill in the API Goal's integration name and API goal Call name. (feature being sunset at the end of 2026 - due to Keap's API update)

What action do you want to perform when a contact clicks this link?

If you choose to utilize the Trigger API Goal (feature being sunset at the end of 2026 - due to Keap's API update):

  1. Fill in the API Goal's Integration Name (Example: They need to match what you have configured in your Campaign Builder - PlusThis, (app ID), etc.)

  2. Fill in the API Goal Call Name (Example: PT Link Clicked, Link Click, etc)

FAQs / Tips

Why isn't the Action Link Triggering?

Make sure to use the Link Generator to pass the contact details to the page with the Action Link on it and that you’re testing using an actual contact record and not a “test”.

My Website

Embed the PlusThis button on your website that will tag a contact when it is clicked.

  1. Select the button size, style, and button text you would like above the embed code

  2. Once the button looks how you would like, copy the embed code

  3. Embed the code on your website where you would like the Action Link button to display

  4. Be sure to pass contact details to the page the Action Link is embedded on. You can do this using the link generator, or by passing details through an Infusionsoft (Keap) webform submission

  5. OPTIONAL: If you would like to use this with your own custom button, click the slider at the top right of the My Website block. Add the link below where you embed the PlusThis code

Link Generator

This Tool will remember your visitors for future visits, but the initial visit needs to include the appropriate information. Use the link generator to generate a link that contains the necessary data. The generated link will only work properly in Keap emails.

Embed a PlusThis button on an Infusionsoft (Keap) Hosted Thank You Page that will tag a contact when t is clicked

  1. Select the button size, style, and button text you would like above the embed code

SMS

Add the Action Link to your SMS message that will tag a contact when i is tapped.

  1. Copy the Tool URL from the bottom of the page

  2. Open the SMS tool that you would like to add the link to

  3. Paste the link in the body of the message that you would like to send. Do not add this link to the MMS area
